Northern coast of Eastern Java, about 50 km north of Banyuwangi.
Access
Easy, about one hour by car from Banyuwangi
Characteristic
250 km2; The park is a rough circle, with the extinct volcano, Baluran, at its centre. Dry, flat to hilly area with the highest point in the altitude of 1247 m. Typical ecosystems: mountainous rain forest, grasslands (40% of total area), wetlands, volcanic biotopes, sea and sea coast, mangroves, coral reefs. Baluran Nation Park is surrounded by heavily cultivated and industrialised land.
