Northern Sri Lanka, approximately 35 km south west of Jaffna.

Access

Easy. Approximately 1 hour from Jaffna by car + 45 min. by ferry.

Characteristic

18 km2; Island of Neduntivu (Delft). Delft island is the only place in the world with wild ponies. Basically flat island surrounded by shallow waters and sandy beaches. The whole island is based on coral and limestone. Typical ecosystems: semidesert, sea and sea coast.

Note

Ponies are believed to have been brought to the island by the Portuguese.

Ancient Nagadeepa Temple is situated in the park.

There is no tourist infrastructure in the park.
