Quite difficult by a car, easier by a motor boat.
Characteristic
3650 km2 ; Narrow strip of coastal area including southern part of the Bukit Barisan mountain chain. Altitude - from the sea level up to 1964 m. The park lies in the wettest part of Sumatra. In the north, the park contains areas with slopes of 20-80 degrees; in the south, the land becomes flatter with a few fairly high hills and swamps in areas close to the beach. Typical ecosystems: lowland rain forest (about 70% of total area), freshwater ecosystems, swamps, mangroves, coastal biotopes and mountain cloud forest.

National park is listed in the World Heritage Sites List of UNESCO.
