1206 km2 (443 km2 marine); Coastal lowlands to not very high mountain ridge and plateau. Highest points on the mainland - Mt. Honje (620 m) and Mt. Rakata (813 m) at Krakatau Islands. Peninsula reaching into the Indian Ocean by a narrow isthmus and several offshore islands including group of Krakatoa. The largest remaining lowland rainforest in Java (approx. 50% of the total area). Typical ecosystems: tropical rain forest, freshwater swamps, mangroves, marine and coastal ecosystems, sand dunes and coral reefs.
