Quite difficult - only accessible by public flights, or by public riverboats.
Characteristic
13 605 km2; great dispersed Mentarang mountain trails plateau of Apau Kayan which covers the entire park. Altitude 200 - 2,558 m with highest mountain Mt. Longnawan. Average rainfall is 3,000 mm per year and air temperatures between 20.5 º -33 º C. The park comprises the largest remaining block of primary and secondary rainforest in Borneo - about half of the reserve consists of species-rich dipterocarp lowland forest. Typical ecosystems: lowland rain forest, cloud forest, savanna, mountains lower than 4000 m, freshwater ecosystems (rivers).

Park is located at the border between Indonesia and Malaysia.
Remote National Park.
The park is inhabitated by several thousand people belonging to various Dayak tribes who live from shifting cultivation and rice farming.
There is no tourist infrastructure inside the park neitheir in its surroundings.
