Localization
Central Vietnam, 50 km northeast of Pleiku.
Access
Easy, about 1h 30min from Pleiku by car. The road conditions are fine during the dry season and not so good during the rainy season.
Characteristic
418 km2; Mountainous national park located on the Kon Tum Plateau in the central Annamite Mountains. The park’s terrain is characterized by rugged mountains, rolling hills, and deep valleys. The altitude of this park varies from 570 m in valley of Ba River to 1,748 m (Kon Ka Kinh peak). The topography of Kon Ka Kinh National Park is lower from north to south. Owing to the sloping topography, rivers in this park are short, run fast, and create many waterfalls. Climate: the rainy season lasts from May to November, the dry season lasts from December to April. The average annual temperature is from 21°C to 25° C. In which May has the highest average temperature of 25 °C. The average total annual rainfall varies from 2,000 – 2,500 mm. In particular, rainfall concentrates from May to November. Typical ecosystems: subtropical mountain forest, needle leaf forest, freshwater ecosystems (rivers, waterfalls).
